Jordan's Invisible hand

Scandals rock the country every now and then. protesters are beaten, corruption is the norm, and huge mishaps that affect the very sense of decency in a country the size of a pea pod.
people get pissed, damn the government, and yearn to a savior to rescue them from the mess they support and help create. That savior appears just as often as those scandals and beatings happen.
It's an invisible hand that has a presence, although not a physical one. it's a mechanism just like in free markets theory, except in this case there is nothing free. the hand works to relieve the tension with exhibits of generosity, assures the public that fairness is the goal, and promotes patriotism. it promises action, transparency, and pr
ogress. it promises justice and rallies the people to work for a future so dim and dark it started already appearing in the blackness of the beaten eyes.
This hand is said to be loved by the masses, but the truth couldn't be any further.

"This hand is said to be loved by the masses" I say love is blind. and blind leading the blind.
the truth appears to those who can see from out of the box. just like yourself.

but still i insist,, things could have been way worse. which doesnt mean it cant be better!

nice post!

jano, the "things could be worse" mentality is one of giving up to the status quo. We don't want that. We know we can do better.

anon,
I know. I am so excited. I am like sooo waiting for that. OMG :)

hb,
It's hypocrisy that has it's roots in fear. The latest beatings in Aqaba is just another episode of spreading fear.

Your blog is now a favourite.

I could NOT agree more.

It's like they tell you that you should be content and use religion against you, just to milk you for more.
But Jordan will never change if the people are still scum peels who are opressed by bullshit which they buy.

You astound me! You have truly excelled yourself this time! The fatuousness of your ramble is matched only by its incoherence.

Hmm, let me understand your waffle. You are a person, obviously male and Jordanian, living in one of the Gulf States, by its very nature, a kingdom / principality, blogging about the Jordanian monarchy. As I said, you surpass yourself. You are critical of the Jordanian Royal family, yet feel no compunction about living in another monarchy a few hundred miles away. What did you do; leave your republican credentials at the border? Take a deep breath and smell the rot of hypocrisy that follows you like flies on a malodorous cadaver. You represent the one characteristic that causes the civilised world to mock us: sheer hypocrisy!

Has it passed your notice that the same demonstrations you point to in Jordan are occurring around the world. Do you suppose that his Majesty should be waving a magical wand to shield the kingdom from a situation that has ransacked even the largest economies? The vast majority of countries are suffering from the same situation, which is not discriminating based on governmental system.

Long Live the Hashemite Kingdom Of Jordan and its Leadership.
