1- Your Both don't know anything about Islam, so Stop talking about Islam as your knowing it ..

2. Again with your judgmental attitude. I don't mind Islam. As I mentioned, I have several Muslim friends (of all religious spectra, from the extremely religious to the believer who drinks occasionally). I myself am an atheist and despise religion in general, especially Christian casual racism (which is prevalent in our country amongst the Christian minority dare I say it). I don't want to live in an environment where I feel I have to conform to a religious set of rules that I don't believe in. I guess another thing we have in common. But please don't jump to conclusion and accuse me of xenophobia when you have no evidence to support such a remark.

4. But don't you see that your problem is actually the fact that he's drinking beer. Whether it's because you think he's a hypocrite or not. That is basically your whole issue with him. You said it yourself:

Believing in God and drinking are not mutually exclusive. You and I both know that banning of alcohol in the Quran came in stages. At first, drinking whilst praying was only forbidden. And for a while the prophet (or presumably God) had no problem with people drinking as long as they didnt pray under the influence. What you're saying, or what you expect from the King, is for him to pray (an image he has to put for our religious society who would complain otherwise) and live the life the prophet led. That would be absurd. Would you be happy if he had 20+ wives? Probably not. Times are different. And I don't think someone praying and believing in God, whilst occasionally enjoying a scotch, is a hypocrite. Many Muslims lead a life like that and there's only God (presumably) out there to judge. As long as the country is being run without corruption (I agree, this is arguably not the case), then who the fuck cares?

It seems that there's a great deal of misunderstanding here, either you're stupid, or I am, because I'm pretty sure we're both clear in our points!

Let's break it down again, so that the unfortunate people who don't know what "hyperbole argument" means can understand this:

1. I am an atheist, I have no interest in a Muslim leader, nor Sharia rule. I am an occasional drinker, I smoke pot too. That cleared, I'll skip the last half of your comment.

2. Yes, I do think you don't like Islam nor anything to do with it. I share that with you, but I come from completely different grounds, that I don't respect.

3. Who said anything about Sharia in kindergarten books? I said religious legitimacy شرعية مش شريعة! I don't know which schools you've been to, or if you speak Arabic since your English is superb (you do know what hyperbole means after all) but I'm pretty sure out of the 5 schools I jumped across, all of which mentioned that the Hashemites have a religious legitimacy, that religion as far as I know is Islam, not Hinduism.

4. Back to the main point, I DO NOT MIND HIM DRINKING BEER, I mind him being a hypocrite, now in a normal day, I don't even mind hypocrites, they're everywhere, but I mind one that controls my life, I mind one that brainwashes me that he's there up my ass because he's a descendant of the man who abolished drinking, I see him praying humbly, run in white robes around Ka'ba, preech on Islam, then all of a sudden he's out there drinking! If you read my comment, then I was trying to point to things more important than religious legitimacy, which I do not care much about myself, just like Haddadin. This makes me see the pictures a bit different than the way a religious one sees it. My comment was that the pictures conveyed a more important message than an ambiguous bottle that might be anything; the expensive trips, and what anonymous pointed to, the hypocrisy and naivety of our society. Anyways, these are opinions only, and we should be respectful to each others, even though I see your comments (i.e. me sage6 bs 3amel 7ali mothaqaf, and then vomiting at my comments) in line with freedom of expression, but still, I hope you do not take it too personal when discussing ideas.

No where in our constitution does it say that Jordan is run by Sharia law. Nor does it advocate that any where in kindergarden books. I don't know what school you went to, but you might want to check your sources.

Again, you're criticising a leader because he 'enjoys a scotch in the evening' or 'plays roulette', when these are baseless arguments. What the king does in his own free time is no one else's business. You seem less worried about unemployment and corruption and would be more pleased if you got an absolute dickface for a leader who prays 5 times a day and never tasted alcohol. When these are not qualities attributed to a good leader.

The King doesnt have to conform to your image of how an ideal Muslim should behave. I have several Muslim friends, some drink, some don't. But who are you to say that some are good Muslims while the others are kuffar? You might want to go get a job with muftis in Saudi Arabia. Takfeer is their hobby. You'll have a good time there.

It hell is not about drinking beer, shaneenah, or kerosene, that's not the odd part in itself, the odd and disgusting thing is that king Abdullah is not only a hypocrite advocate for Islam wherever he goes, but him and his father and grandfather are ruling Jordan because, for one, they stuffed in every Jordanian child's head that their legitimacy lies in the fact that they're the descendants of the founder of Islam, they're the Hashemites, الشرعية الدينية if you remember those classes in kindergarten and preliminary school!
